Forklft Licencing Training NSW

Successful completion of this course, offered by FHV Driver Training working in conjuction with CTPM Australasia (RTO 91301), results in a Nationally Recognised High Risk Work licence.

This course is designed to develop and confirm the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively operate a forklift truck.

On successful completion of this course you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the following Unit of Competency; TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck

You will also be issued with a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment, this is an interim licence issued by the SafeWork NSW Assessor when you pass your test.
This training and assessment is conducted in line with requirements set out in the Conditions for conducting HRW licence assessments in NSW under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 and the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017.

Standard Forklift Training Course

Description

Training sessions will be carried out on site in a safe designated area for practical and in a classroom environment for theory.

Course areas include:

  • Assessing hazards and planning the work
  • Planning and setting up the forklift ready for operations
  • Conducting risk assessment and implementing control measures
  • Conducting routine checks of equipment
  • Operating the forklift
  • Maneuvering forklift around various routes
  • Practicing different types of lifts and carrying various weights
  • Calculating and determining load capacity
  • Shutting down and securing the forklift.
  • Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground.

    This unit requires a person operating a forklift truck to:

  • Plan for the work/task

  • Prepare for the work/task
  • Perform work/task
  • Pack up
     
     

Entry Requirements 

Duration

2 Days of training each day consist of

Day 1 – Presentation, discussion, and operational activities

Day 2 – Theory review, unit of competence assessment (formative assessment) and Practical Demonstration

The 3rd day* is for – Assessment conducted by a Safe Work NSW accredited assessor

*This timeframe is a guide only; it may vary depending on your knowledge level.

Certification

  • All participants are required to go through an assessment to be issued with a statement of attainment. This unit of competency is nationally recognized.
  • Once the SafeWork assessment has been successfully completed, you will receive a SafeWork Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) which is valid for 60 days. A fee is then payable to Australia Post for the license card which is nationally recognised.
